Crooked Lane

Privacy policy

Effective 6 October 2026 (updated for friends, the Happiest family board and the season pass). Crooked Lane is made by LARK Enterprises LLC.

The short version

Crooked Lane does not collect personal information. There are no accounts and no sign-in. The only things that leave your iPhone are your in-game family's leaderboard entry and, if you use them, your friend links, both described below. You can delete them at any time.

What stays on your iPhone

Deleting the app deletes both.

Leaderboards

To appear on the Richest family, Most respected family and Happiest family leaderboards, the game sends our server the family name and first name you chose for your game family, its scores and its generation, together with a random code that lets only your copy of the game update that entry. It does not send your real name, your Apple ID, your location, contacts or any device identifier. These names are public on the leaderboards, so do not use your real name if you would rather not.

Friends

Each family entry has a six-character friend code. If you type a friend's code into the game, or a friend types yours, our server stores a link between the two family entries so each of you can see the other on a Friends leaderboard. Only family names and game scores are shown to friends. You can choose a friend's family as your in-game rival; that choice stays on your iPhone.

You can remove your family from the leaderboard at any time from the game's menu (Remove us from the leaderboard). That deletes the entry, and every friend link to it, from our server straight away. Other players can report an offensive family name, and a reported name is hidden.

Screen recordings you choose to make

At the end of a life you can choose to record a short clip of your skyline. This uses Apple's ReplayKit. iOS asks your permission first, the clip stays on your device, and it is only shared if you choose to share it yourself.

Purchases, advertising and tracking

You can buy packs of gold coins and a season pass. Gold and the pass only unlock cosmetic items: vehicles, hats and building styles. They never change your odds in the game. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details or your Apple ID, only that something was bought so it can be added. Your coins and items are stored on your iPhone.

This version shows no ads and does not track you across apps or websites. If a future version adds ads or analytics, we will update this policy before that version is released, and the App Store listing will say so.

Children

Crooked Lane is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
